On the Road – Kingsbridge at Chester Races and the Chelsea Flower Show

Kingsbridge

Many a day at Kingsbridge HQ is spent either behind a desk on a computer or (quite literally) out on the road, travelling to and from meetings. It’s all for the greater good of course, but sometimes we do like to step out and experience some of the outside world. Often, as a sign of our gratitude towards them, we like to do this with the partners we work with. The last month was no exception.

In May some of the Kingsbridge team, along with guests, hit the races in Chester and paid a visit to the Chelsea Flower Show. Both events provided an excellent opportunity for us to get to know our partner companies even better, giving both us and them a chance to get out of the office and relax. It also gives us a moment to thank those key decision makers in person.

New Additions – Shaun Poole

New Additions

The Kingsbridge team is constantly growing. Regular readers of the blog will know that it was only around a year ago that we doubled the size of our HQ to accommodate more team members. Whilst we’re not bursting at the seams again quite yet, it probably won’t be too long before we outgrow our new surroundings too. With that in mind, we thought we’d start giving you a peek behind-the-scenes every now and then, introducing a few of our new additions.

Today we’re saying hello to Shaun Poole. Shaun has been a member of the Customer Service team at Kingsbridge for almost 4 years now, and is about to make the move over to our Business Development team. Known as ‘BD’s’ in and around the office, Shaun and his colleagues build and maintain relationships with a number of our key partners, all of whom are integral to the success of Kingsbridge.

Bring on the 2018 APSCo Charity Ball!

APSCo Ball

Aloha ahiahi! That’s ‘good evening’ in Hawaiian (yes, we had to Google it.) Why the change in language? It’s not the tropical weather we’ve been experiencing lately, or a reflection of our desire to escape these shores for a more suitable summer environment. It’s actually because the 2018 APSCo Charity Ball is happening very soon, on 7th June. The theme? ‘Aloha’. Think flower garlands, surfboards, grass skirts, palm trees, and a coconut or two.

The event is taking place in Manchester at the Deansgate Hilton, and an evening of generosity, enthusiasm and, most importantly, a great sense of fun is on the cards. Celebrating the best recruitment has to offer, the night out will raise vital funds for a great cause – Saint Ann’s Hospice in Manchester.

We’re delighted to be sponsoring the event, and are very much looking forward to it. The APSCo Ball has become an annual highlight of many people’s calendars and this year will be no different. Need a little more information? Simply click on this link to learn more. Make sure to check back in on the blog in a week or so for pictures and a summary of how the night unfolded.

APSCo 2018 ‘Aloha’ Hawaiian Charity Ball

APSCo Charity Ball

We’re delighted to be the headline sponsor of this year’s APSCo Charity Ball. For 2018 APSCo are heading north to Manchester, where the Ball will take place at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on 7th June. The event is designed to raise vital funds for St. Ann’s Hospice in the city.

The theme is an appropriate one for summer – ‘Aloha Hawaii’. Although the weather in Manchester might not quite match the weather in Honolulu, plenty of fun is sure to be had. Think flower garlands, grass skirts and palm trees. Elvis in ‘Blue Hawaii’. Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘Romeo + Juliet’. Surfing in Oahu.

Here at Kingsbridge, we’re very much looking forward to spending some time with our key partners in the north, and it’s great to see the good people at APSCo move away from London and bring a fantastic night out to a powerhouse city where a number of recruitment professionals do some excellent work.

The 2017 YunoJuno Freelancer Awards

Forget the Oscars, the BAFTAs, and the Grammys. Last night marked the annual high point in the awards calendar – the YunoJuno Sweet FAs (also known as the Freelancer Awards.) We’ve been friends with the good people at YJ for a little while now, but last night’s ceremony was the first time we properly got a chance to see the great work they do in person.

The Kingsbridge Walk

Kingsbridge Walk 1

At what was an unearthly hour, huddled in Winchcombe Library car park an amazing turn-out of over 30 from the Tewkesbury office congregated in the persistent rain to start our 18-mile voyage of discovery over the Cotswolds.

Spurred on by the strong enthusiasm to tackle any challenge, in the usual Kingsbridge-way, and the outside possibility of seeing the start of England v. Argentina game, the team set off with blistering pace. The gloomy conditions were offset by the extremely enjoyable conversation, light-hearted banter and that Kingsbridge camaraderie.
