Unfortunately, football never did make it home. With the World Cup now safely in the rear-view mirror and the agony of a semi-final defeat beginning to subside just a little, we can reflect on a job well done. As many an armchair pundit has noted, had we been offered a semi-final berth before the tournament started most of us would have accepted it gladly. That being said, the nagging feeling that we won’t get as good a chance again still persists. But it’s not all ‘nearly’ this and ‘what if’ that.
In tandem with the tournament, we ran a World Cup sweepstake with our partners that resulted in one lucky recruiter winning a beer fridge stacked to the brim with a fine beverage selection.
Every time one of our partner’s contractors purchased a policy with us a member of Kingsbridge staff would draw the name of a country out of the hat (strictly monitored, of course). A number of lucky partners had the name of the winning team during the final (Allez les Bleus!), and were then entered into a final prize draw to determine the ultimate winner. Simple.
