Earlier this month we covered our sponsorship of two great undertakings by two different groups of people: Pennon’s trip from John O’Groats to Land’s End, and Giles Derry of Dunedin’s mammoth journey across Italy and into France.
We recently received a nice letter from the lovely people at Pennon letting us know how exactly they got on.
The funds that Kingsbridge and others donated went towards:
– Fuel (both vehicle and human!)
– Accommodation expenses (campsites and hotel rooms)
– Team cycling shirts
– Promotional material to help raise funds whilst en route
In total Pennon were able to raise £7,207.50 for Cancer Research UK and Force Cancer Charity, which was split evenly between the two. Donations such as Pennon’s enable the two charities to provide assistance and support to people and families who are suffering with cancer, as well as allowing them to continue their ongoing research into finding a cure.
The photos below show the riders at John O’Groats and then, many hard miles later, at the finish in Land’s End. Don’t forget to take a look at the Three Cycling Amigos’ Facebook page to relive the journey.
