There are lots of great things about Barcelona. There’s the football, obviously – Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Cruyff, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and all the rest. The architecture of Gaudí and Montaner. The beaches. Van der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion. Even that Freddie Mercury song. In short, it’s one of Europe’s finest cities. So what better place for the Kingsbridge Partnership team to spend a long weekend in?
After a great year for us and our partners, with targets smashed and records broken, we decided a well-deserved break was in order. Despite some fretting that England’s possible appearance in the World Cup final on the Sunday might be missed (and we all know how that turned out ), the chosen members of the partnership team arrived in Barcelona last Friday and immediately headed for tapas and cocktails (with the emphasis firmly on the cocktail part.)
Despite a few sore heads, Saturday morning saw a Segway tour of the city followed by an afternoon spent on a yacht and a catamaran. Following dinner that evening, the team headed to Barcelona’s beach festival with many seeing in the sunrise on Sunday morning. A few hours later everyone was back on the plane home, ready for work the next day. It goes without saying that Monday in the office this week was a little quieter than usual.
Barcelona is one of those cities that words can’t really do justice to, however. Fittingly the team took a lot of pictures. Scroll down below to see a selection. A big thank you to all of our partners for the work you’ve put in this past 12 months – we wouldn’t be where we are today without you.
